Choose mobile phone quick charge electrical appliances what is worth paying attention to? Sopower will tell you.
1. What is quick charge?
First, two formulas are popularized: energy W (you can think of it as battery capacity) = power P * time T; Power P= voltage U * current I. In the case of fixed battery capacity, quick charging is to shorten the charging time by increasing the charging power P. And increase power has 3 methods, raise voltage respectively, raise current and raise voltage current at the same time. These three ideas produced three representative Quick Charge technologies: high pressure Quick Charge represented by qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0/2.0 and mediatek Pump Express Plus; Low voltage quick charge represented by OPPO VOOC flash charge and USB 3.1 PD. (most of the quick charging schemes of other mobile phone manufacturers come from or develop on these three)
2. Quick charge compatibility
Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology has been adopted by samsung, xiaomi, SONY, asus, LG, Letv, zte, HTC, gionee and other high-end flagship phones in the last two years. Samsung's FastCharge is actually the vest of Quick Charge.
Meizu MX5, PRO 5, PRO 6 and MX6 are the mobile phones using mediatek's PEP technology. In fact, meizu mCharge is made on the basis of mediatek's PEP technology.
VOOC flash charging is a technology independently developed by OPPO and only used in OPPO mobile phones, which requires customized charger, data cable and battery. In particular, the fast charging charger of VOOC cannot be realized on other mobile phones, and the data cable of other mobile phones cannot be used on the charging head of VOOC.
3. Comparison of high pressure quick charge and low pressure quick charge
As mentioned above, there are only three mainstream Quick Charge technologies: qualcomm Quick Charge, mediatek PEP high pressure Quick Charge and VOOC flash Charge, and all other Quick Charge technologies are modified on the basis of these three technologies.
The advantage of high voltage quick charging is that there is no need to modify the existing data lines and mobile phone batteries, so the cost is low. In addition, there are many manufacturers using this technology, and the charger has good compatibility. The disadvantage is that it has to go through two voltage drops, and the conversion loss is large. At present, only VOOC flash charging is available for low-voltage quick charging. The biggest feature is low loss during charging, and the charging speed in the early stage is much faster than that of high-voltage charging. However, the disadvantage is poor compatibility, which requires the use of special accessories and mobile phone batteries.
4. How to buy a third-party quick charging head
If the original quick charging head is missing and you don't want to buy the expensive original one, you can also buy a regular third-party quick charging head. At present, only qualcomm Quick Charge has a special third-party charging head, and mediatek PEP and VOOC flash charging phones can only use the original ones.
The formal Qualcomm Quick Charge third-party Quick Charge adapter needs to be certified by Qualcomm. Qualcomm SMB chip is used as the Quick Charge solution. The shell is made of fireproof and flame retardant material and printed with the logo of Qualcomm Quick Charge3.0/2.0 (it is necessary to have this logo).
The biggest advantage of the third-party fast charging head lies in its good compatibility. It can be adapted to various brands of smart phones, and it is much cheaper than the original charging head in the case of similar quality. The green union QC2.0 charging head costs 39 yuan, half the price of the official samsung S7 Edge charging head.
It's dangerous to use a low-power charger to charge a high-power mobile phone
When charging your phone, it's the phone itself, not the charger, that determines the current. In general, the phone will automatically detect the charger's load capacity and determine the current input based on its own power level. For example, if the 9V 1.67a samsung S7 Edge is charged with the charger of xiaomi 5V 1A, the charger will be charged with the highest load. In the test, the charging current reaches 1.08a, which is easy to burn out the charger after A long time.
So, you can use a high-power charger to charge a low-power phone, but it's best not to use a low-power charger to charge a high-power phone.
6. Why is fast charging slower in the future?
Many people may have noticed the problem: charging a low-power, fast-charging phone is fast at first, but after a certain amount of charging, it gets slower and slower until it's full. The fastest OPPO R7, for example, took less than 30 minutes to run from 0 to 60 percent, but nearly 50 minutes to run from 60 to 100 percent.
This is actually normal. When the battery of the mobile phone is very low, the mobile phone will automatically drive the charger to fully recharge the battery. At this time, the charging speed is the fastest, but the heating and loss are also very large. When the charge reaches 60%-80%, the current of the mobile phone will drop down and enter the stage of trickle replenishment, which can reduce the heat and protect the hardware of the mobile phone.
7. Huawei/meizu Quick charging head supports qualcomm Quick Charge
Huawei USES its own processor and fast charging technology developed by itself. Meizu is a wanwaner mediatek, and even the mCharge fast charging technology comes from mediatek PEP. Qualcomm's Quick Charge charging head does not support huawei's and meizu's fast charging. However, the funny thing is that the Quick Charge heads of huawei and meizu can actually Charge the Quick Charge of qualcomm phones that support Quick Charge. The reason is that they are equipped with Quick Charge and do not display the Quick Charge logo. As a result, we will find that some people online support qualcomm qc3.0/2.0 quick charging huawei original charging head, but also not a copycat goods. But if your phone is not huawei, you'd better buy green union, which is certified by qualcomm.
8. Relationship between type-c interface and quick charging
USB type-c isn't just about changing the interface to a different shape, it's a big part of the solution to the problem of too much current. Compared with Micro USB interface, USB type-c has more contacts, can adapt to a larger current, and has the property of supporting quick charging naturally.
If a mobile phone supports USB type-c but does not support quick charging, such as oneplus 2, its typc-c is only a physical interface, so it is necessary to buy a mobile phone with USB type-c interface that supports quick charging.
